I received a couple of questions about the 48 game minimum to be included on the lists last season (2015-16). It seemed to be a good time to review that number. The last change was after 2003-04 when it was reduced to 48 games from 56.
I put before the NCBCA membership at the 2016 summer meeting a proposal to reduce the minimum number of games used in part of NCBCA All-American nominee criteria (top 25 bowlers on CollegeBowling.com average / average differential lists) to 40 games from 48 games. The proposal passed, effective this year. It has always been my policy to mirror the game requirements for the final overall average lists maintained here after the NCBCA minimums.
As the season progresses, the minimum for being included on the CollegeBowling.com average / average differential lists gradually increases on the first of each month. The last jump (from 32 games to the final number of 40 games) will happened beginning tomorrow, March 1.
